Privacy
Escherlock operates this website. We keep data collection to a minimum and use no tracking cookies.
What we collect
The site uses cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics: it sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. If you contact us — by email or through the contact form — we receive what you choose to send: your message, your email address, and any details you include.
Why, and on what basis
We use this information to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to carry out the engagement. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where an engagement follows, performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Who processes it
We do not sell your data. Your enquiry is handled by us and by service providers acting only on our instructions — our website/hosting and form-protection provider, and our email-delivery provider. Some of these providers are located outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States; where that is the case, the transfer is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires (Standard Contractual Clauses). Where we engage subcontractors on a matter, they are bound by confidentiality. We disclose information to others only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed for the matter and for our legal and professional obligations, then delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you access to your personal data, or to correct, delete, or restrict it, and you can object to our processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at Email us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD — cnpd.pt).
